It’s a simple yet engaging game that people of all ages can enjoy. Here we go!

Set Up the Game

  • Tic-Tac-Toe Board: The game is played on a grid that’s 3 squares by 3 squares or 4 squares by 4 squares
  • Your Markers: You are either an X or an O. You must choose one before you can proceed

How to Play

  1. Taking Turns: The player who is X usually goes first. Players alternate placing their marks (X or O) in empty squares.
  2. Strategy Time: The goal is to get three/four of your marks in a row – this can be horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
  3. Be Observant: While focusing on your strategy, don’t forget to keep an eye on your opponent. Block if they are getting close to a three-in-a-row.

Winning the Game

Three in a Row: You win if you succeed in placing three of your marks in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row.

Example of a Winning Board:

In this example, X wins by connecting three X’s diagonally.

A Tie: If all 9 squares are filled and neither player has 3 marks in a row, the game is a tie. It’s quite common in Tic-Tac-Toe for experienced players to end in a tie.

Tips for Winning

  • Start Strong: If you’re going first, the best starting position is in a corner. If you’re second, the best reply to a corner start is in the center.
  • Think Ahead: Try to anticipate your opponent’s moves and think two steps ahead.
  • Block and Trap: Always block your opponent from getting three in a row. You can set up a ‘trap’ to create two lines of two, forcing your opponent to block you in one and allowing you to win in the other.

Earning:

  • You earn N500 for each win but the money will be on hold until you accumulate N5000
  • The N5000 will be automatically sent to your E-purse

It’s All About Fun!

Remember, the essence of Tic-Tac-Toe is to have fun, and enjoy the challenge. Don’t get too caught up in winning or losing. Each game is a new opportunity, and with each play, you get better! When you accumulate N5,000 winnings, you get paid.
